Couch co-op over the internet: Steam Remote Play Together explained
Play local-only games with friends far away, and only the host needs to own the game.

1What it is
Remote Play Together is a Steam feature that streams a local multiplayer game from the host's PC to friends over the internet. Friends see the game and use their own controller or keyboard as if they were on the same sofa.
2Who needs the game
Only the host needs to own the game. Friends just need a Steam account, or the host can send a guest link in some cases.
3How to start
Launch a game that supports Remote Play Together, open the Steam overlay, right-click a friend and choose to invite them to Remote Play Together. The game must support local multiplayer for this to work.
4Tips for a smooth night
The host needs a good upload connection. Use a wired connection if possible, close downloads and lower the resolution if friends see lag. Fast reaction games suffer most; cooking and puzzle games work very well.
5Games on our list that support it
Check each Steam page for the Remote Play Together tag. Among our picks, Overcooked! 2, PlateUp!, Portal 2, Human Fall Flat, Ultimate Chicken Horse and It Takes Two list support for it.
