1The pitch
The Onion King has accidentally raised an army of zombie bread, and only a team of chefs can save the kingdom by cooking fast enough. Each level is a kitchen with a timer and a stream of orders.
2Playing together
Every dish needs several steps: chopping, cooking, plating, serving, washing up. Kitchens are designed to force cooperation, with moving counters, rafts and portals. The sequel lets you throw ingredients, which adds a lot of skill and laughter.
3Who carries who
Roles must be negotiated: who chops, who cooks, who washes. A good group finds a rhythm; a bad one blames the dishwasher. Non-gamers can join quickly because controls are simple.
4Look & sound
Bright, cartoonish and readable, with charming chefs and a cheerful soundtrack that does nothing to lower your heart rate.
5Setup & value
Local couch co-op and online co-op for up to four. Verified on Steam Deck. Paid expansions add new kitchens and themes.

The verdict
Verdict
“Overcooked! 2 is still the gold standard of couch co-op: easy to start, hard to master and guaranteed to make someone shout about onions. Every group should play it at least once.”
